Team
Dr. Sylvie Corbeil is a clinical psychologist at the Douglas Mental Health University Institute working with severely depressed and suicidal adults for almost 10 years. She received training in Transference focused therapy (TFP) for the treatment of borderline and narcissistic personality disorders, Interpersonal Psychotherapy and brief Psychodynamic Intervention for crisis. She is responsible of the continuing education program for psychologists at the Douglas for the fourth year.
Dr. Karina Béland is a clinical psychologist with 20 years of experience treating children and adolescents with severe mental health disorders using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Systemic and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) principles. She is also a clinical supervisor at the psychology department of the University of Montreal. Throughout her career, Dr Béland has worked in different settings such as child and adolescent psychiatry departments (inpatient unit, day hospital and outpatient clinics), community and private sector, as well as the medical sector and school psychology. She now works at the outpatient clinic for depressive and suicidal disorders at the Douglas Mental Health University Institute.
Dr. David Michaliszyn is a clinical psychologist with 10 years of experience in both the public and private sectors. He is responsible for training and continuing education for suicide risk assessment and intervention at Douglas Mental Health University Institute. He also is a trainer in motivational interviewing for Psymontreal.
Dr. Marie-Claude Geoffroy is a professor in School and Applied Child Psychology and an Associate Member in the Department of Psychiatry, at McGill University. She holds a Canada Research Chair Tier 2 in Youth Suicide Prevention. She is also a registered psychologist specialized in cognitive behavioural therapy and dialectical behavioural therapy with children
